Ukrainian given names

[edit]

While it is true that many Ukrainian diminutive male names end in -o, this statement does not capture the full phenomenon. In reality, the diminutive ending is -ko, as in Mirko, Slawko, Iurko and all of the examples given in the article. For females, the equivalent is -ka, as in Helka, Slawka, Iulka. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Markcymru (talkcontribs) 19:21, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

another common ending

Many Ukrainian names end with -enko, AFAIK --Baruch ben Alexander - ☠☢☣ 21:53, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

at the end

[edit]

I am surprised that the article does not mention the meaning which seems pretty obvious to most - I guess - Slavic speakers. Which is: "at the end", "on the limit", "at the margin" and similar. "U kraia" - means the same for a Russian, a Czech, a Bulgarian. 2A02:A31B:833C:7480:4072:D6D0:E4A7:E1F0 (talk) 04:35, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
